That’s a long time to stay in the limelight before realizing it’s just not for you, even if he did lead a slightly quieter life than she. He is an architect, but he was married to her for more than two decades of fame. Most people have no idea what ended her marriage, though some speculate the limelight wasn’t something her husband wanted. Apparently, they were not as happy as they seemed at the end. However, in 2016, they made the announcement that they were going to end their marriage, and they did.
They seemed to be a happy couple in their marriage, as they were married for 21 years. What a ride with these two !!! I’m so grateful â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸ I love you & #mothersday2018Ī post shared by Laura Wright on at 8:07am PDTīack in 1995, Laura married a man by the name of John Wright. She was nominated, and won, on her first nomination for a Daytime Emmy. She was fortunate enough to take home the award, too. She spent 20 years in the soaps prior to this, and it was her first nomination. When Wright was announced as a 2011 Emmy nominee, it was her first time ever being nominated.
Her second win was a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Carly on GH in 2011. Her first win was in 1998 when she took home a Soap Opera Digest award for the Favorite New Character in GL. She’s won two awards for her roles in soaps. In fact, she’s so good that she’s been recognized for it so many times she can’t even keep it straight. We don’t know if she knew she’d be an actress at this point, but we know she was good enough to get roles in many productions. She was in many productions in high school, and she was quite good in them. She Loved ActingĮven before she was a famous soap star, she was acting. It’s not uncommon for people who are born in the nation’s capital to live outside the city limits in another state. She wasn’t raised in the city, but she was raised just outside of the city in Maryland. She did well in the role, and she played that character on that show until 2005 when she got her role as Carly in Port Charles. In fact, she began her soap career in 1997 when she was on Guiding Light as Cassie Layne Winslow. Laura Wright is no stranger to the soap opera world. But despite her many years on daytime television, there’s still a lot you might not know about the woman who plays Carly. She’s been playing the role of Carly Corinthos since 2005, which makes her the face of the role these days. She’s a character that comes and goes, but we’ve been watching Laura Wright take on this role with class for a while now. General Hospital fans know that there has been no shortage of Carly’s over the years.
